ADMISSION

Forms for Grade One Intake are given out the first week of January and assessment is carried out either in May or June. Forms are given out and filled in at the school. Children are interviewed Grade One enrolment in the year before they would school. There is no cut off point in terms of when she was born, Girls considered for assessment will be born in the same year.

For admission first preference is given to Catholics and siblings of students already enrolled in the school who have a good record. 20% of the students also accepted in the school are of other denominations.

 

WAITING LIST

In the event that students withdraw during the year, children on the waiting list will be admitted into the school.

 

WITHDRAWAL FROM THE SCHOOL

Parents are required to give a term’s notice if they wish to withdraw their child from the school. Reports and transfer letters will be given when the student has been cleared by the Accounts office and the class teacher regarding full payment of fees and submittance of all school text books.

 

COMMUNICATION: HOME & SCHOOL

A Newsletter is sent out at the beginning and end of each term. Important issues, any announcements and reminders of up coming school events will be sent out with the students. A detailed calendar highlighting some of the events that will take place during the course of the term is given to students at the beginning of the term.

Teachers will communicate with parents through notices written in the Homework Dairy or a class letter. Please check your daughter’s satchel daily, and sign for any letters received in ink.

The school has an open door policy. Should a parent wish to see their daughter’s class teacher, an appointment should be made with the teacher concerned. Each teacher will give their email address to the parents of her students.

If a pupil is absent a letter written and signed by the parent or legal guardian is required. No scraps of paper will be accepted as this is an insult to the teacher.

 

ORIENTATION DAY 

The school holds an Orientation day for Grade One parents, grade one pupils and all other new parents and students in the school. This is held on the first Saturday of October.

 

MEET THE TEACHER EVENING

A meeting for parents with the new grade teacher is held in the daughter’s classroom the second week of school in the first term.If you are unable you must see the class teacher to collect the relevant information.
